Enthermics Blanket Warmer
The Enthermics EC340 Blanket Warmer is advanced technology. As is the case with most blanket warmer it is constructed of stainless steel. That makes it easy to clean, durable, and capable of holding heat.
But it's the patented technology that makes the equipment effective. Halo Heat evenly distributes heat through the use of an electrothermal cable. This cable array is in both sides as well as the bottom for full-wall warming.
Enthermics is the only manufacturer to offer this reliable non-moving parts warming feature.
Some of the additional technical aspects of the Enthermics EC340 are:
- 3.4 cubic ft.
- 17-5/8"W x 26-11/16"D x 33-5/8"H overall
- UL and CSA approved
- Blankets warmed to 200F
- Safety override prevents overheating
- 4 digit LED display
- Window door included
- 120V, 60Hz, 6.0AMP
- 3 year parts, 1 year labor warranty
Medical Blanket Warmer Basics
Blanket Warmers are usually constructed of stainless steel. That makes them easy to clean,
durable, and capable of holding heat. But many manufacturers use patented technology to make the
equipment more effective. For example, Enthermic's Halo Heat evenly distributes heat through the use of an electrothermal
cable. This cable array is in both sides as well as the bottom for full-wall warming. Enthermics
is the only manufacturer to offer this reliable non-moving parts warming feature.
Medical blanket warmers are used in many areas of the hospital. In Pre-OP, blankets are warmed for
patients who are nervous and weak from fasting. They are also cold because the patient gowns
worn are very thin. Other departments like PACU, O.R., NICU, L & D, Emergency, Radiology,
and Oncology also enjoy the use.
But there is more to warming than just patient comfort. Keeping patients warm has several
advantages. Less shivering means they are more relaxed and can breathe easier. They come
out of the anesthetic faster. There is also a reduced incidence of cardiac arrest.
How many blankets will a medical blanket warmer hold? Depends on the thickness of the blanket.
But there are general guidelines. For example, in the Enthermics line, the EC230 is a 2.3 cubic foot and holds
roughly 8 blankets. The EC340 is 3.4 cubic foot and holds about 12 blankets. The EC770
about 30 blankets, the EC1540 about 60, the EC2060 about 80, and the EC2160 about 85 blankets.
There are accessories that can be used to help make each blanket warmer "staff friendly."
Glass doors help to see how many blankets are in the unit. Locking doors help with security
issues. Casters make them easily moved for cleaning or to another department. Carts can be
built so that smaller units can be raised off the floor to an ergonomic working level.
